This is a superb book. The story is tells is in many ways heartbreaking. Abuse, corruption and abuse of power over many years. Yet, Ki Meekins has truly learned over the years that the only way to overcome adversity is through the power of the pen. He has said so often that he has survived and learned not to turn the hate inwards. Instead, through many years he has written hundreds of letters to State and Federal politicians. He has had the courage to stand up and be counted when others preferred to see how it went.

He appeared on many television programs in order to show others the way forward. His clear and courageous stand led to the setting up of the Mullighan Royal Commission which reported recently. Everything it said underscored the story told in this book. It is a wonderful achievement to see that Graham Archer has written the forword to this book. Many years ago when he first depicted Ki's story on Channel 7's Today Tonight, he was derided by those in high places for being alarmist and wrong. Now the Mullighan Commission has shown that Archer was just ahead of his time.

This book will become part of the classical and sordid history of South Australia. It will require some significant effort on the part of the Government of South Australia to ensure that there is a satisfactory and speedy response. [Bob Moles]
