On 17 November 2008 - Marianne Martinez of CBS 11 News reported “14 Years Later, Wrongly Convicted Man Released [Antrone Johnson]”.

Dallas: She said in the mid-90s, Antrone Johnson was convicted and given a life sentence for sexually assaulting two girls on two different occasions in Dallas. He was in high school at the time. "It's hard because a piece of us was gone," said his sister, Tammara Brown. But this year, Johnson's defense attorneys learned the Dallas County district attorneys who prosecuted the case had not disclosed important evidence. One girl recanted her statements and the other girl gave conflicting statements.

Johnson's attorneys asked the judge to free him. After 14 years in prison, he was released from custody on Monday. "The Lord did this," said Anita Herns, Johnson's mother. "He brought my baby home. He's been in there for all these years." "It's been hard, but I know God was gonna bring him home," said his grandmother, Lela Field. Family members say they are not upset about the past. Instead they are looking forward to a future with him. "I'm not mad at nobody. I'm not even mad at the accusers. I'm just thankful," said Herns.

Johnson had little to say after his release, leaving the courtroom in Dallas with dozens of friends and family by his side. "I'm feeling good," he said. "It's a blessing, a blessing."
