David Szach was in a gay relationship with the lawyer Derrance Stevenson. Derrance and David had been living together for about three years. In June 1979, Derrance’s body was found in a freezer at his home with a gunshot wound to the head. David was 19 years old at the time and Derrance was 44 years old. According to the post-mortem report, Derrance is said to have died around 4 - 5 June 1979. In December 1979, David was convicted of the murder and sentenced to life imprisonment. He was released in 1993. David has claimed throughout, that he did not commit the crime. Again, serious questions have been raised with regard to the forensic evidence with regard to the timing of the murder.

Here we provide you with documents from the trial together with various post trial reports and submissions which will enable you to make up your own mind about this puzzling matter.
