On 5 June 2008 The Advertiser reported “Secrecy over suspended [Adelaide] uni staff”

It said, the University of Adelaide has suspended two unnamed employees from its Anatomical Sciences department over alleged misconduct. Department head Professor Maciej Henneberg last night declined to confirm the names of those suspended. He answered “no comment” when asked if he had been suspended. He said, however: “I won’t be working at the university this week.”

The university released a statement yesterday confirming it was investigating “an alleged misconduct”. Two staff members had been suspended. It did not confirm the nature of the investigation but indicated police would be called in if necessary. “If the matter required referral to external authorities it will be discussed with authorities at the relevant time,” the statement said.
