MACON - After four years of facing felony child abuse charges, Kathy Hyatt of
Macon has been found not guilty by a jury of five men and seven women.
The Hyatt trial began Monday in the Shelby County Circuit Courtroom after a
change of venue from Macon County. Judge Hadley Grimm presided on the case.
Rick Tucker and Kirk Zwink were attorneys for Hyatt. The attorneys said this
morning, they hope the public would be aware of the hypothesis of shaking baby
syndrome. It took the jury some 30 minutes to find Hyatt not guilty.
